Privacy Policy

SattvaPatha — operated by SattvaPatha LLP, 1-30-465/1, Prudential Bank colony, Trimulgherry, Secunderabad -500015. Telangana. India. Effective 2026-09-05

This explains what we hold about you, why, who else sees it, and how to make us delete it. It is written to be read, not to be survived. If anything here is unclear, contact@sattvapatha.com will answer.

Before anything else

SattvaPatha is not an emergency service. Nobody is watching for messages in real time. If you are in danger right now:

  • Tele-MANAS — 14416 or 1-800-891-4416, free, 24×7, in many Indian languages
  • Emergency services — 112

Who can use it

Adults only, 18 and over. We ask your date of birth when you create an account and use it for that check. We do not knowingly hold data about children; if you believe we have, write to contact@sattvapatha.com and we will delete it.

What we collect

When you create an account Your email address, and your date of birth. You may add a name, a display name, a phone number and a timezone; none of those are required to use the service.

When you ask a question The text you write, and a redacted copy of it with identifiers removed. What you write may be about your health, your relationships or your state of mind — this is sensitive personal data, and we ask for your explicit consent before you can send anything.

When you book a session The appointment, and the notes the psychologist writes about it. Those notes are their clinical record.

When you pay You pay by UPI, in your own UPI app. We never see and never store your card, bank or UPI credentials. We store the reference number you give us, the amount, and whether we matched it to your booking or your order.

When you order something from the Store that we post to you The name, phone number and full postal address you give us at checkout — street, city, state and PIN code — together with what you ordered, how many, what it cost, and how far along it is.

We ask for an address only when something physical has to reach you. A download never asks for one, and nothing else in the app does either. You can use every other part of SattvaPatha without ever giving us an address.

When the Store sends you somewhere else A few things in the Store are sold by other people, not by us. Tapping Buy on one of those opens their website, and from that moment their privacy policy applies and not this one. We send them nothing about you — no name, no email, no identifier, no record that it was you who tapped. We do not know whether you bought anything, and no order exists on our side.

When you use the app A device token, if you turn on notifications, so we can send them. A record of the consents you gave and when. A log of administrative actions taken on your records — who did what and when, never the contents.

Why we hold it, and on what basis

WhatWhy
Account and ageTo confirm you are an adult and to let you sign in
Your question textTo screen it for risk, and to get it answered
Consent recordsTo prove we were allowed to process anything at all
Booking and session notesTo provide the session, and because clinical records must be kept
Payment recordsTo confirm your payment, and because financial records must be kept
Your delivery addressTo put your order in the post, and to answer you if it goes astray
What you orderedTo send you the right thing, and because a record of a sale must be kept
Risk and crisis recordsTo show that a risk was identified and acted on

We rely on your consent, which you give explicitly and can withdraw. Some records are kept afterwards because the law requires it — see If you ask us to delete everything, which says exactly which.

Artificial intelligence, plainly

We use AI, and you should know where.

Every question is screened for risk by an AI model before a human sees it. It reads what you wrote and assigns a risk level. If it finds any sign of danger to your life, your question leaves the normal process immediately and you are shown crisis helplines instead.

We send the original text — not the redacted copy — to that screen. Removing names and numbers could equally remove the detail that shows someone is in danger, so the screen reads what you actually wrote. This means identifying details you type may reach our AI provider.

AI drafts answers; a person approves every one. When experts have responded to your question, an AI model organises what they said into a single answer. It is not allowed to add advice of its own, and every part of the draft must trace back to something a real person wrote. No AI-drafted answer reaches you without a human reviewing and approving it.

The AI provider is Anthropic, and their processing happens outside India. This is a cross-border transfer of your data, and we rely on your consent for it — the consent you give at sign-up, having been told here that it happens.

Your questions are not used to train AI models. Anthropic’s API does not train on the text sent to it or the text it sends back, and we have not opted into any programme that would change that. What you write is used to answer your question and for nothing else.

Nobody’s mental health is decided by a machine. The AI screens and drafts. People decide.

Who else sees what you write

Your question is shown to psychologists in a pool, in its redacted form — with names, phone numbers and email addresses removed. They do not see your account, your name or your email. If our redaction finds a name it cannot safely remove, the question is held for a person to check before anyone outside sees it.

Your session notes are visible to the psychologist who wrote them, to their clinical supervisor where supervision applies, and to our administrators.

Our administrators can see records in order to run the service — confirming payments, reviewing answers, handling crises, packing orders. Every such action is logged.

Your delivery address is seen by whoever packs your order, and by the delivery company that carries it — a name, an address and a phone number have to be on a parcel for it to arrive. That is the only reason it leaves us, and we give the carrier nothing else about you. Psychologists never see it: it is not part of any clinical record, and nothing in the Store is connected to your questions or your sessions.

We do not sell your data. We do not share it for advertising. We do not share it with anyone outside the service except: our infrastructure provider (Supabase, database in Mumbai), our AI provider (Anthropic, see above), and where the law compels us.

Notifications

If you turn on notifications, we deliberately keep everything out of them. A notification says something has happened — never what. A phone screen may be seen by someone you have not told, and that is your business, not ours.

How long we keep things

Only as long as there is a reason. When you ask us to delete your account we remove what is yours, and keep a narrow set of records the law or a duty of care requires. Exactly what is kept, and why, is set out in full at https://sattvapatha.com/account-deletion. In short:

Deleted — the text of your questions, your device registrations, anything drafted for you but not delivered.

Kept, with your name removed — records another person wrote or that we are obliged to hold: clinical session notes, the record that a risk was or was not identified, payment records, and your consent records. Consent records are kept precisely because they are the evidence that we were allowed to hold anything.

Your delivery address is not one of those. It is erased in full when you ask us to delete your account — name, phone number, street, city and PIN code all go. What survives is the order itself: what was bought, what it cost, and the state it was sent to, because that is what makes it a financial record. A doorstep is not part of a financial record, and we do not keep one.

Financial records are kept for eight years, which is what tax law requires of us. That covers what you bought from the Store, and the payment references you give us for a consultation — the UTR and any note attached to it. It does not cover the money itself for a consultation: you pay your psychologist directly and we never hold it.

Your rights

Under India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act you may:

  • See what we hold about you
  • Correct anything wrong or incomplete
  • Delete your account — see below, and Account deletion on our site
  • Withdraw consent at any time, which stops further processing
  • Nominate someone to exercise these rights if you cannot
  • Complain, to us first and then to the Data Protection Board of India

To do any of these, write to contact@sattvapatha.com.

If you ask us to delete everything

You can request deletion inside the app, or at https://sattvapatha.com/account-deletion without installing anything.

What happens: the text of your questions is deleted; your name, phone and date of birth are erased; the delivery address on any order you placed is erased with them; your devices are unregistered; your account can no longer be signed into. Clinical notes, safety records, payment records, the bare record of a sale, and consent records are retained and disconnected from your identity, for the reasons above. We will tell you exactly what was kept.

If a Store order had not yet been posted when you asked, it is cancelled and refunded. We will not hold on to your address in order to send you something you have walked away from.

We aim to complete deletion requests within 30 days.

Complaints

Grievance Officer: P Hari Kiran Email: contact@sattvapatha.com Address: 1-30-465/1, Prudential Bank colony, Trimulgherry, Secunderabad -500015. Telangana. India.

We will acknowledge within 7 days. If we do not resolve it to your satisfaction, you may complain to the Data Protection Board of India.

Changes

If we change this policy in a way that affects you, we will tell you in the app before the change takes effect — not by quietly updating a page.
